Spaghetti Bolognese
Spag Bol - My recipe from years and years ago.
Ingredients
- 500g premium mince beef
- 4 rashes of bacon diced
- 1 large brown onion diced
- 1 or 2 tubs tomato paste
- Garlic granules and fresh diced garlic to taste
- 1 x 440g tin crushed or diced tomatoes or fresh is you desire
- 2 beef stock cubes
- Basil
- Optional – sliced mushrooms
Method
- In a large saucepan melt some butter and brown the diced onion and bacon, remove from pan and put aside
- Add mince and constantly stir until browned through completely
- Add tomato paste one tub at a time and mix through to gain a consistent red colour
- Add garlic, onion and bacon, and mix through
- Crumble the stock cubes into the mix and mix through
- Add salt and pepper to taste
- Add tin of crushed or tomatoes
- Bring to boil
- Add basil and turn down to a simmer
- Simmer for an hour or 2, add water if needed
Optional you could also add carrot pieces.
