Soda Bread

Ingredients

Method

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl
  2. Add treacle
  3. Stir in enough milk to give a moist (but not sloppy) mixture
  4. Place in a well oiled loaf tin (about 900g)
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes or until risen
  6. Reduce the heat to 175 degrees Celsius and bake for a further hour
  7. If not cooked after testing return to oven for a further 10 to 15 minutes
  8. Serve with butter and fresh oysters or prawns
