Sausage Rolls, Cheese & Basil
Ingredients
- 500g beef mince
- 250g sausage beef mince
- 1/3 cup mozzarella
- 1/3 cup parmesan
- 1/3 cup fresh basil
- 1/3 cup stuffed green olives, sliced
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 4 sheets puff pastry, frozen
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
Method
- Combine beef and sausage mince with cheeses, basil, olives, tomato paste and breadcrumbs in a bowl, mix well.
- Cut each pastry sheet in half. Place mixture in a line along centre of each rectangle.
- Brush edges of rectangle with a little egg and roll over to enclose.
- Cut each roll into four pieces, prick top of each roll with a fork and brush with egg.
- Place rolls seam side down on oven trays.
- Bake at 220C for about 20 minutes or until browned.
- Serve with sauce, if desired.
