Rainbow Beef
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg Beef, cut into thin strips (topside)
- 1 Egg
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 to 2 cups of Cornflour
- Oil for frying beef, olive oil if in pan
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 tbsp Sesame oil
- 4 tbsp Peanut oil
- 1 cup Tomato sauce
- 4 tbsp Hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp Sweet chili sauce
- 4 tbsp Honey and Soy sauce
Method
- Slice beef into long thin strips
- Add egg and salt and pepper to beef and mix well with hand
- Add cornflour and ensure each beef strip is coated evenly
- Fry in frying pan with oil or in deep fryer
- Combine sesame and peanut oil and heat in skillet and fry garlic
- Add brown sugar and caramelise
- Add Hoisin, Sweet Chili and Honey Soy sauce and cook through continually caramelising
- Add Tomato sauce and cook on low heat for 10 minutes
- Add fried beef to sauce and mix through
- Serve with rice, fried or steamed
