Spanish colonists gave the name “adobo” to the cooking method indigenous to the Philippines, as their marinades were so similar.

  1. In a bowl, stir together the salt, paprika, black pepper, onion powder, oregano, cumin, garlic powder, and chili powder.
  2. Store in a sealed jar in a cool, dry place.
